11 for Semiquin
Celebrating New Jersey’s role in the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding

Featuring original works by: Trudy Borenstein-Sugiura, Amaris Brown, Ilene Dube, Debbie Gibbs, Aman Gupta, Maria G Pisano, William Plank, Faith Saunders, Linda Vonderschmidt-LaStella, Barbara Wallace, and Laura Warne.

Partnering Organizations: East Jersey Old Town Village, Friends of Washington Crossing Park, Historical Society of Princeton, Howell Living History Farm, Morven Museum & Garden, NJ State Museum, Princeton Battlefield Society, Princeton Battlefield State Park / Clarke House State Historic Site, Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, Wick Farm House / Jockey Hollow / Morristown National Historical Park, and William Trent House Museum.

These 11 artists were selected by juror Tricia Fagan to participate in the show and paired with a local museum or historical site. The artists created new artwork in response to what they experienced, exploring the relevance of history and stories in today’s America, and reflecting on the cultural richness of our region.

‍Join us at the Opening Reception to meet the artists, view the show, and learn more about the partner historical locations.  Each artist conducted extensive research with their partner organizations, creating new work that both honored the site and gave a visual voice to the history of our county.

Special additions to the reception:
— Partner organizations will be in attendance giving everyone the opportunity to learn more about their historical sites and the connections to our community and our history.
— Historical reenactors from several of the partner organizations will join the fun. Alex Robb with Friends of Washington Crossing and the American Revolution will be here, along with a few other historical reenactors. This will be a chance to meet some of the individuals keeping our heritage alive and a great photo-opt!
