Colonial Faire and Marketplace

A Colonial-style Faire featuring Reenactors portraying the 1st Rhode Island Regiment, the Revolutionary War’s first predominantly Black and Indigenous Continental Army unit,  known for their valor at the 1778 Battle of Rhode Island and 1781 Pines Bridge. Dedicated living historians, including groups from New Jersey and descendants like Jason Roomes, wear authentic uniforms—often with the signature black leather cap and anchor emblem—to educate the public on this integrated unit’s fight for freedom.
