SUMMARY:Washington's Landing in New Jersey
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nDepictions of Washington crossing the Delaware on Chris
tmas night in 1776 are etched into the American psyche — so much so that
Crossing reenactments in Pennsylvania attract thousands of visitors each
year. But did you know that after the Crossing\, New Jersey saw more revol
utionary battles and skirmishes than any other American colony?\nLearn wha
t happened when the troops landed in New Jersey!\nThe Washington Crossing
Park Association (WCPA)\, NJ State Park historians\, and the First Rhode I
sland Regiment\, will provide an opportunity to experience both the Crossi
ng and the March to Trenton through the eyes of the men and women who live
d it.\nThis will happen in sync with Washington Crossing Historic Park of
Pennsylvania’s “First Crossing” rehearsal event.\nReenactors who cro
ss with Washington will be met by Ronald Rinaldi\, portraying General Nath
aneal Greene\, who will invite them to an encampment in the Lower Park\, a
nchored by members of the First Rhode Island Regiment. The First RI will p
ortray the roles of Black soldiers\, sailors\, artillerists\, marines and
 musicians. They will be supported by:\n\n\n \nJohn Lamb's Artillery\n\n
\nMotts Artillery\n\n \n17th Regiment of Infantry portraying the Hunterdo
n Militia\n\n \nNew Jersey Fifes and Drums\n\n\nVisitors will be welcomed
at the nearby Nelson House\, where volunteers from the Garden Club of Tre
nton will serve free hot cider and donuts in front of a roaring fire. A fo
od truck will be on hand! Free entry\, but a $10 per carload donation is r
 equested.\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Fabric\, Stories &amp\; Memory : Exhibition in the Historic William
  Trenton House Museum
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrenton's history is a story of movement - fr
om the migration of the first Indigenous people thousands of years ago to
the newcomers of today from around the world. All brought their own memori

butions of some of the cultures represented in Trenton's rich history and
current life with an exhibition in the historic house and a calendar of ta
lks\, demonstrations\, and workshops during the month of March.\n\nThe his
toric William Trent House will be the setting for displays of garments and
other items made of fabric from African American\, Caribbean and Latin Am
erican\, and Liberian cultures\, as well as of modern creations that tell
stories with fabric and natural materials. This exhibition will be on the
main floor of the museum building and will be open for visitors Wednesdays
  through Sundays\, 1:00 to 4:30 pm\, from Sunday\, March 8th\, through Sat
urday\, March 28th.\n\nAn opening reception for the exhibition will be hel
d on Saturday\, March 7th\, at 3 pm in the Trent House Visitor Center. For
  reservations\, please email trenthouseassociation@verizon.net.\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:From Ground to Gallery\, WILD CLAY Celebrates Ceramics Shaped by Pl
 ace
DESCRIPTION:The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) is pleased to present WILD
CLAY\, a compelling new exhibition featuring ceramic works by artists who
engage directly with “wild clay\,” locally sourced\, unprocessed earth
that reveals the textures\, colors\, and character of place. The exhibiti
on will be on view March 21 through April 18\, offering audiences an oppor
tunity to experience a range of functional and sculptural works that refle
ct both the individuality of wild clays and the creative visions of the pa
rticipating artists.\n\nWILD CLAY celebrates the deep connection between m
aterial\, environment\, history\, and creative exploration. Unlike commerc
ially prepared clay\, wild clay is dug from the earth and used raw or refi
ned\, carrying the unique imprint of its landscape. This exhibition invite
s viewers to consider clay not merely as a medium\, but as a bridge betwee
 n art\, geology\, ecology\, and cultural memory.\n\nCurated by artists Joh
n Reinking and Marg Diaz\, the exhibition features work by a diverse group
of ceramicists whose practices emphasize experimentation\, material aware
 ness\, and place-based inquiry. Reinking\, a New Jersey-based potter\, is
known for his wood-fired vessels crafted from locally sourced clays\, whil
e Diaz brings a playful yet rigorous approach to studying clay’s behavio
rs and possibilities.\n\n“WILD CLAY is about reconnecting artists and au
diences to the land beneath their feet. By working with materials gathered
directly from the earth\, these artists embrace unpredictability and allo
w the landscape itself to become a collaborator in the creative process\,
” share curators John Reinking and Marg Diaz. “Each piece tells a stor
 y not only of artistic intention\, but of geology\, time\, and place.”\n
