SUMMARY:“Nursery of Rebellion”: Princeton and the American Revolution
DESCRIPTION:\n\nDrawing on an array of PUL’s manuscript and rare book col
 lections\, this exhibition will commemorate the 250th anniversaries of U.S
 . independence and the Battle of Princeton\, and showcase Princeton’s ar
 chival treasures from the revolutionary era alongside documents and artifa
 cts that reveal local experiences of the American Revolution on campus and
  in the surrounding communities. Exploring the Revolution across lines of 
 gender\, class\, race\, allegiance\, and status\, the exhibition will offe
 r visitors a range of perspectives on the Revolution’s ideals and contra
 dictions\, its anxiety and violence\, and its achievements and tragedies.\
 nCurated by Michael Blaakman\, Associate Professor of History\, and Gabr
 iel Swift\, Librarian for Early American Collections.\nMembers of the publ
 ic are welcome to visit the exhibition between 10:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. on
  weekdays\, and between 11:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. on Saturdays and Sundays.
